Dana Johnson founded Blue Moon Haven Dance Company in 2008. She believes in promoting confidence with a sisterhood of friendship and bringing out the strengths in each and every one she engages with. Her devotion is deep rooted in Tribal belly dancing because to her it fulfils her soul. Tribal belly dancing celebrates feminine qualities and sisterhood but is not limited to that. It is a creative outlet with a benefit of a super-efficient workout that focuses on strength, control, and power. Her career is built upon over 15 years of sharing friendship, building a fellowship of friends and having a common goal of self-improvement and confidence. With multiple certificates in American Tribal Style (ATS) training, Dana has been an instructor, mentor, designer, and Creative Director, since 2008.
Located in Boise, Idaho, Blue Moon Haven focuses mainly on one type of belly dance- American Tribal Style [Created by Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman founder of American Tribal Style and FatChance Belly Dance]. This form of belly dancing has its roots set in the cultures of Central Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and Spain. ATS is mostly improvised based on a dance vocabulary. The music, basic moves, chemistry, and sisterhood from training together is the real link and bond between the dancers when they perform.
We help foster and empower the individual by conveying the power of the sisterhood for a soul building experience.
